Lucy D'Aponte, MSPT CYT

Lucy D’Aponte is a licensed physical therapist and certified yoga teacher with over 15 years of experience.  She has a BS/MS in physical therapy from Long Island University and a BA in dance and Italian from Sarah Lawrence College.

Her experience as a physical therapist is eclectic.  She has worked with infants in neonatal intensive care units, patients in home care settings, school based therapy, acute hospitals, subacute rehabilitation, extended geriatric care, and private outpatient care.  Her clients continue to be her most valued teachers.

Lucy offers a unique approach to physical therapy by combining her years of experience providing therapy to patients of all ages and abilities, with her admiration for the therapeutic effects of yoga.  She bridges the knowledge of traditional physical therapy with the long-practiced therapeutics of yoga. Her treatment approach is delivered with admiration for the abilities of the human body, yet with respect for its fragility and impermanence.  Many of her patients comment on her capacity for  compassion and interpersonal skills.

She is currently furthering her skills in yoga therapy, an approach to healing body, mind, and spirit through self witnessing using yoga postures and conversation.  Lucy is also training in the Polestar Pilates method.

Lucy is a native of New York City, lives in Winooski, Vermont, and enjoys spending time with her family, sitting in sunshine, running, practicing yoga, and traveling.

“I came to Lucy last summer after a year of severe lower back pain from a work injury, and I was losing hope that I would ever get better. I rarely have any back pain recently, and I credit this to incorporating everything she taught me into my daily routine. My health and overall well-being have improved so much since I saw her, I really do feel like I have a new life now. The freedom from chronic pain and my new passion for fitness have given me a lot of happiness at work and in my personal life. I graduated school in May and am starting my new job as an RN next week, and I feel confident and prepared to work safely and avoid another back injury. The difference in my life has been like night and day! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” ~ Christine C.
